HOW MANY DUMPSTERS WILL YOU NEED?

Roofing contractors use a standard of measure referred to as a “square” when they measure the total area of a customers roof. One roof “square” is the equivalent to 100 square feet of surface area on the roof. So a 2500 square foot roof would be 25 square.

It’s important to know this measurement when ordering a dumpster because we can get a rough calculation on your required dumpster number and truck size from the square of the roof and type of roofing material. Roofing materials are very heavy and they vary from 200-250 lbs., per square for a basic 3 tab asphalt shingle to over 900 lbs., per square for an old slate roof, so there is quite a discrepancy in material weights, and if the bin is overloaded we can’t pick it up!

DUMPSTER BINS FOR THREE-TAB SHINGLES:

For any loads over 20 squares, the dumpster must be delivered to a front driveway. No back alleys over 20 squares.

For very large roofs we can supply multiple bins depending on the site conditions and how accessible it is.
